Mulliner fitted an 11cwt Sedanca de Ville body with a three-position sliding roof • The history file with the car is exceptional with too much information to list here but notably GWN 42 lived in the Isle of Man between late 1963 and 1985 as confirmed by its IOM registration document (8745 MN) • In 1985 it was purchased by Dr. James Johnson of Washington DC who decided to leave the car in the UK having commissioned Ashton Keynes Vintage Restorations to carry out a full restoration which commenced in 1985 finishing in 1988. There are 42 pages of very detailed invoices with the car totalling about £150,000 in today’s money (a replacement cylinder head was sourced in the US at a cost of $4,500 in 1985!) • It was subsequently sold in the UK and details of later owners can be found in the file alongside more recent invoices, original Build Sheet, Chassis Card, engine output reports, original Owner’s Handbook, restoration photos, CDs, MOTs and much more Forming part of the Darby Collection.
