+ buyer’s premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) 57 • The 1955 Citroën 11BL (Traction Avant Légere) is a classic French saloon, part of a pioneering, avant-garde series (1934–1957) known for its revolutionary front-wheel drive, unitary body construction, and independent suspension • The 11BL features a 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine, a 3-speed gearbox, and a lighter, narrower, more nimble body than the standard 11CV •Right-hand drive versions were built under licence in Slough and were known as ‘Light 15’ and ‘Big Fifteen’ • This French-built, left-hand drive example was first registered and used overseas before being imported to the UK in 1981. Ted was a well known and much respected restorer and may have been responsible for the car’s restoration • Purchased by our vendor on 26/09/2008, the history file contains numerous invoices for maintenance and servicing from 2009 up to 2022 including Bath Performance Cars totalling £3,860, Bath Classic - £4,241 and Fiennes Restoration on 22/07/2010 (gearbox and clutch) - £6,857 • The history file also contains photos from its wedding car days, MOTs back to 1996 - most recent on 22/07/2024 at 28,195 miles, tax discs, V5c etc Purchased by our vendor in 2008, this striking Hooper-bodied Enclosed Limousine is believed to have been restored by a previous owner.
