The Supercar Fest Sale 2024 Cars 26 Registration: SPH 99M Chassis No.: 1S1767BW Estimate: £40,000 - £50,000 Specialist: Lionel Abbott Telephone No: 07831 574381 Lot 205 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster Supplied new by the famous Tourist Trophy Garage in Farnham, once steeped in Mike Hawthorn folklore, this lovely V12 E-Type was first registered to Weldsparrs of Alton Hampshire as listed on its Heritage Certificate. Still in its original factory specification and showing around 54,000 miles, it was subject to a full restoration between April and December 1986. Much of the servicing and maintenance in the 1990s was carried out by Classic Coachbuilders and in 2010 it benefitted from a replacement hood and tonneau-cover together with new wire wheels. The history file contains various invoices from this time detailing work carried out by the Hutson Motor Company of Bradford. The E-Type has been in our vendor’s family ownership from 2015 and the last MOT was carried out in 2017 with work that included new power steering pipes. It was serviced by Super Vettura of Sunningdale twice before being virtually laid up in the family garage ever since. On the button and ready for a new chapter, this lovely V12 has stood the test of time from its earlier restoration, now some 18,000 miles on and has a very comfortable look in a world of over-restored, unusable examples.
