The 997 was initially available from July 2004 in two guises, Carrera and Carrera S, both rear-wheel drive only with identical bodywork. The base Carrera stuck with the well-established 3.6-litre power unit producing 325bhp, however the Carrera S had useful extra power - some 355bhp - thanks to a larger displacement engine (3.8-litres). Other general 997 enhancements included better suspension, reduced drag-coefficient, a more appealing interior and extra room for passengers. The Carrera S also benefited from a sports exhaust with quad tailpipes, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), bigger brakes, 19” wheels as standard and Xenon headlights with red brake callipers the only external clue. The car presented here is a 2005 Porsche 911 (997) 3.8-litre Carrera S specified with the drivers’ choice of the manual 6-speed (G97/01) gearbox (which was reinforced by Porsche for the ‘S’ model). It’s a UK-supplied right-hand drive example, first registered on 25th May 2005 and finished in Arctic Silver with full Metropole Blue leather. The specification includes windshield green, graduated tint, lobster-claw alloys, DVD NAV Package - Europe, PCM 2, remote alarm, central locking, leather-rimmed steering wheel, Carrera S sill plates, silver-faced instruments, air conditioning, active rear spoiler, Metropole blue suede-effect headlining, electric sunroof, Plus 2 occasional rear seating with belts and much more. The current indicated mileage is 41,444 and there are 12 services in the service record, both Porsche and specialist. (A detailed list is available at our Documents Desk). The MOT is valid until 5th September 2024. The car is supplied with its V5C, HPI all-clear certificate, stamped service book, VOSA MOT history printout, original Owners Manual pack, two working remote keys, the locking wheel nut key and the warning triangle. Currently, the 997-Series Porsche 911 seems tremendous value, particularly at this guide, offering real performance with everyday usability and an entry into the fascinating world of 911 ownership. The desirable 3.8-litre ‘S’ model with 355bhp, sports suspension, upgraded braking, a sports exhaust, a full service history and just under 41,500 miles. More Details Lot 147 Bid On Lot 147
