270 The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale - Motorcycles Registration: CBY 683 Frame No.: 58971 Engine No: U1727 Estimate: £8,000 - £10,000 Lot 861 c.1937 Rudge Ulster 499cc • Well known for the 4-valve cylinder head made famous by winning the Ulster Grand Prix • The Rudge Ulster was basically a race bike on the road and capable of 100mph, quite a feat in 1928 for a 500cc single • This example, first registered in 1947, is presented in mostly unrestored condition • Has run recently but would benefit from recommissioning before road use • UK-registered on a current V5C Charismatic, pre-war, 500cc Rudge Ulster with the advanced 4-valve head. Registration: RAC 673F Frame No.: 3953-3 Engine No: 3953-3 Estimate: Offered Without Reserve Lot 862 1968 Killeen Mk1 198cc • Tom Killeen was more famous for his exploits with monocoque cars than he was bikes • The machine was designed by Tom with centre steering, a monocoque frame and powered by a Velocette LE engine and gearbox • Built in the late 60s/early 70s and registered as a Killeen Mk1 • Reviewed very positively in Motorcycling magazine in period with quotes such as “Honestly, I’ve never before come across a motorcycle which can give its rider such enormous confidence” • Was owned by The National Motorcycle Museum at some point before being sold on • Forming part of a private collection and unused for some time means some recommissioning will be required before road use • A great example of eccentric British design Innovative, Tom Killeen-designed, ‘monocoque’ motorcycle.
