The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale 11th - 13th November 2022

17 + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) on the first £300,000 of the hammer and 10% plus VAT (12% incl VAT) thereafter Lot 610 1956 Messerschmitt KR 201 Roadster Registration: SXV 885 Chassis No.: 59370 Estimate: £32,000 - £38,000 Known as ‘Kabinenroller’ in Germany and ‘Cabin Scooters’ in the UK, this group of vehicles were popular when small was chic and virtuous. Introduced in June 1957, the Messerschmitt KR 201 Roadster was one of the most glamorous of them all and addressed some of the challenges faced by owners of standard K200s in warmer climates who were suffering under their perspex roofs on sunny days. The 191cc Fichtel & Sachs, two-stroke engine featured a raised compression ratio of 8.0:1, producing an extra 2bhp and endowing the KR 201 with a maximum speed of 65mph. This particular KR 201 has been fully restored and superbly detailed throughout, looking fabulous in gleaming Signal Red with blue seating highlighted in imitation snakeskin, black flooring and a new black soft top and tonneau cover. It’s believed to be one of just 300 examples produced worldwide and even more rare as it has been UK-registered from new. This little Roadster is a real head turner and, I am told, is a delight to drive receiving serious attention wherever it goes. It should be noted that the reverse option is not currently wired to the ignition system and that there is not a towing bracket currently fitted to the vehicle, a fairly straightforward process enabling the gorgeous little matching trailer, packed with the picnic hamper, to follow you closely. A delightful alternative to everyday motoring but not for the shy and retiring! A very rare and desirable three-wheeled ‘Cabin Scooter’ fully restored to an outstanding level and accompanied by a matching trailer. More Details Lot 610 Bid On Lot 610
