The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale 11th - 13th November 2022
165 + buyers premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) on the first £300,000 of the hammer and 10% plus VAT (12% incl VAT) thereafter Lot 731 1972 Triumph TR6 Registration: DBE 142K Chassis No.: CC81041U Estimate: £15,000 - £18,000 Sharp, clean and ruggedly handsome, the TR6 looked far more modern than TR roadsters of old and proved a huge hit with the sporting driver of the early 1970s. Restyled in 1969 by Karmann of Osnabruck, the TR6 gained a full-width nose and a squared-off tail, however, under its new ‘party frock’ the chassis remained basically the same as its independently-rear-suspended TR5 predecessor. Handling was improved courtesy of wider wheels and a front anti-roll bar and the ‘6’ was a little more refined than its predecessors featuring pile carpets, plush-looking bucket seats, a traditional wooden dashboard, and a full complement of instrumentation. Offered here is a sensibly priced TR6 dating from 1972 and finished in Sapphire Blue with Wedgewood Blue seats and disc wheels. First registered in the UK in 2011, the TR6 has been restored and converted to right-hand drive. Accompanying the car is a good file containing pictures of the bare metal restoration, which interested parties should come to see and study in more detail at the NEC Show as the file tells the story better than we could here. Offering a good value for money entry into British ‘top down’ sports car motoring, this is a charismatic example to use and enjoy next summer. Handsome right-hand drive TR6 recently restored and in a great colour combination. More Details Lot 731 Bid On Lot 731
