The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale 11th - 13th November 2022

112 The NEC Classic Motor Show Sale - Cars Offered Without Reserve Registration: TBA Chassis No.: RREW27CM343615 Estimate: Offered Without Reserve Lot 692 1986 Rover SD1 Vitesse 3.5 V8 Twin Plenum Styled as “New Tradition’ by Rover at its launch in 1976, the Rover 3500 “Specialist Division One” took the motoring press by storm, winning the European Car of the Year title in 1977. The SD1 can be considered as the last “true” Rover, being the final Rover-badged vehicle to be produced at Solihull, as well as being the last to be designed largely by ex-Rover Company engineers and also the final Rover car to be fitted with the legendary Rover V8 engine. This Rover SD1 Vitesse is a rare and striking ‘twin-plenum’ example of the marque’s modern classic performance-oriented executive saloon, offered in highly original condition and, we believe, one of only 500 examples. It’s powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V8 with a twin side-entry throttle plenum fuel injection system, producing around 200bhp and driving the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Originally a Jersey-delivered model, the car has had three owners, and has been with the last owner for five years. Brought over to the UK- mainland, the car is currently on a NOVA and we inform prospective bidders that it is their responsibility to register the car with the DVLA. The odometer reading of 67,344 is commensurate with the original service record in the detailed history file which also includes reams of historic receipts and ownership details. Supplied to auction with a current MOT valid until 1st September 2023, cased Elastoplast First Aid Kit and plastic wallet containing the aforementioned Austin Rover Service Record and Consumer Guide. A good example of the rare Twin Plenum with a detailed history file that includes the original service book and reams of historical receipts - Offered Without Reserve.
