282 The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 Cars Lot 761 1974 Ford Transit 90 Mk1 Dormobile Camper •This delightful Mk1 Transit Dormobile provides much needed contrast to the ever popular VW camper whilst matching all of the charm and practicality •Originally registered in 1974, it was owned and enjoyed by the same gentleman for some 28 years until his passing •He was a senior Ford employee who was able to change the basic specification and supervise the build •Differences from standard include two litre, V4 engine fitted with an upgraded gearbox, flywheel and rear differential •In around 2017 it was restored externally by a previous owner, however the interior was kept as it was when originally ordered and recovered in the same style fire retardant cloth •Remaining largely in its original specification with the capacity to sleep four if required, two in the roof space with two below •The vehicle appears to remain in very good condition all round but has formed part of a private collection in recent years with little or no use, so an element of recommissioning may be required •Supplied with a quantity of Transit publications and merchandise indicating enthusiastic ownership •Compared to the much hyped VW Camper, this seem like great value and given its rarity and condition, undoubtedly more desirable This very well presented and patently cared for Mk1 Transit Dormobile provides much needed contrast to the ever popular Volkwagen camper whilst matching all of the charm and practicality.
