274 The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2024 Motorcycles • Launched in 2003, the Terblanche-designed 999 was brought in to replace the 916/996/998 series of bikes •With a number of different models available, the 999R was the high-spec, high-tune ‘homologation special’ produced to race in the WSC •A bigger bore and shorter stroke offered higher rpm and a bit more power. The bike was also equipped with all carbon fibre fairings, Marchesini lightweight wheels and Ohlins suspension. • The bike saw great success in competition winning the World Superbike Championship for three out of the four years it was produced • The ‘FILA’ edition was a limited run of 200 bikes made to celebrate Ducati’s 200th win in the WSC, this bike is #050 • In immaculate running condition, it has only covered 1,494 miles with the cam belts being replaced in September 2020 despite the low mileage •Supplied with its current V5C, original owners manual and service handbooks, all keys and service history including older MOTs •Also included is the commemorative 999R plaque #050/200, a special edition 999R built to celebrate Ducati’s 200th win in the World Superbike Championship.
