+ buyer’s premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) 95 The CL Class is the pillarless coupé derivative of the S-Class full size luxury saloon, sharing the same platform and was formerly known as the SEC (Sonderklasse Einspritzmotor Coupé) and latterly the S Coupé. After six years of development, the third generation was officially unveiled at the end of June 2006 and was presented at the 2006 Paris Salon. Like its predecessors, it is packed with technological features and driver aids, demonstrating Mercedes’ attention to detail with comfort and refinement. While half of the CL’s appeal is its effortless application, which acts passively in the background, the C216 series CL model focuses on the occupants and safety. It features the innovative Distronic Plus predictive braking system, active night vision and parking assist for the driver, while the passengers can enjoy the premium sound system, TV and massaging seats. The CL-Class was available with a wide array of V8 engines, but the CL600’s pièce de résistance was undoubtedly the 510bhp M275 twin-turbo V12 engine as fitted to the example we have on offer today. Beautifully presented in Obsidian Black with a fabulous cream leather interior, the CL was first registered on 23rd October 2006 and was purchased by our vendor in 2014. It was used regularly for most of that time but less so in the last few years. The service booklet is well stamped, all by Mercedes apart from last year when an oil service was carried out by our vendor’s local garage (not stamped). It was treated to new batteries in January 2025 and the current MOT is valid until 3rd January 2026. Our vendor appears to have looked after the car well and it remains in very good condition.
