It was destined for a 914/6 racer which never happened and came as a package with one of our vendor’s 911s. We imagine that its new owner would need to fully strip the engine to assess what work has been carried out (if any) all those years ago. The lead car in the Collection is without doubt the Escort RS2000, a bespoke car that was made for the owner of the business, the grandson of Henry Ford, the founder of the motor company. Henry Ford II used this very Escort when he was in the UK in the 1970s. It was the only Escort RS2000 ever produced with an automatic gearbox and fitted with plush tan leather interior. Our vendor’s family know, that the car was acquired around the turn of the century as a centre piece for the Collection and was restored to its former glory by their late father. This same gentleman also put together this unique Collection of delivery mile examples of each of the Focus RS models. These have all been carefully stored with batteries removed and wheels stored separately. Each of the cars has been fully recommissioned ahead of the auction by the renowned Tremona Garage of Southampton, so they are now ready to drive away. Many still have their plastic trims and wraps in place that would have been in place as they left the factory.
