The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 23rd - 25th August 2024

The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2024 Competition Cars 30 Registration: N/A Chassis No.: 001 Estimate: £50,000 - £55,000 Specialist: Justin Dawkins Telephone No: 07718 140398 Lot 319 2006 TVR Sagaris GTF The TVR name hardly needs an introduction, with Blackpool’s finest having churned out countless significant British sportscars along with sending racing cars to some of the biggest events in the world. With this in mind, TVR once again eyed a return to Le Mans in 2006 and commissioned a small run of seven lightweight race Sagaris shells to be used by the Works team. Prior to completion, there was a change of plan and for marketing reasons, TVR decided to field the T400R. This left the cars only partially built by the TVR race shop, and so the GTF Race Team stepped in to complete them at the TVR Factory at Bristol Avenue. The car on offer here is Chassis #001 which was the only car built at Bristol avenue, and the only car which can carry the TVR name, all the others carrying only the GTF name. The raced very successfully during the remainder of the 2006 season in it’s original TVR AJP V8 format, winning many races in the TVR Challenge, Combe GT and Britcar, ably pedalled by Tim Hood. #001 was then purchased by its second owner, our vendor, who upgraded the car to a Chevy V8 (John Eales 6.8L LS2) and Quaife Sequential 6-speed gearbox. These engines were built specifically for the GTF cars by John and the Chevy LS subsequently became the standard spec as the TVR engines were no longer available. The all-steel engine boasts 550bhp and 500lb/ft of torque and the rest of the spec is mouth-watering with 6-pot AP calipers on the front, 4-pots on the rear, BTR 8” diff flat shift and a Race Tech Dash2 pro-logger all in a 900kg package. Since the rebuild, the car has been used sparingly due to COVID having been raced only three times CSCC Slicks (completed as shake-down), All comers Silverstone (second) and All Comers Silverstone (first). It will be supplied on the button with in-date belts, seat and extinguisher and eight spare wheels with both slick and wet tyres. The Sagaris is already a cult classic supercar on the road and the seven race cars produced always draw huge attention from the crowd and commentators. Dramatic and very fast, but easy to look after and run, with spares available from the usual outlets, body panels available from GTF, and suspension etc. from Grantura Engineering. A Thoroughbred GT from the TVR race shop, on the button and ready to go. More Details Lot 319 Bid On Lot 319
