The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 23rd - 25th August 2024

The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2024 Collectors’ Cars 134 Registration: GP04 EVO Chassis No.: CT9A0202763 Estimate: £30,000 - £35,000 Specialist: Gary Dunne Telephone No: 07740 946796 Lot 425 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII When considering the very best cars from the burgeoning Japanese market there are of course two names that any collector must consider - Subaru and Mitsubishi. The latter’s Lancer Evo derivatives have always been the epitome of the model range and in more recent times have been adorned by numerous nomenclatures, FQ this and FQ that. Ultimately however, the very essence of the marque is the delivery of astonishing power, through a reasonably sized engine accompanied by a Turbo packaged in a car that can be driven to the very limits on a rally stage, at a track day or enjoyed more conservatively out and about in leafy Cheshire. Little wonder then that collectors seek out the very best examples, the option that the American market will eventually open up to them bringing them in to the field of investment opportunity, but more likely, the very fact that most collectors are driving fans themselves and these cars remind them of what it is to really drive. The Lancer Evo VIII we offer here is a superb example in such startling condition that one could easily believe that it had just left the showroom. It has in fact covered just over 10,000 miles and is actually around 20 years old, but there is very little on the car that would make you think that to be the case. It has plainly been cherished, by its first keeper for its first 18 years and more latterly by its enthusiast owner. Its 2-litre turbocharged powertrain, producing over 270bhp, drives all four wheels through its 6-speed transmission and it’s presented in the wonderful and rarely seen colour of Medium Purple with exceptional bodywork and unmarked alloys. The interior, with front seats protected by fitted Ralliart covers we suspect for most of its life, presents as new. Factory options fitted include Recaro front seats, a Ralliart instrument cluster, climate control and intercooler sprayer. The handbook pack contains the stereo manual, owners handbook and a number of invoices for servicing and maintenance including a cambelt change at 9,000 miles in November 2015 and subsequent ones in 2018, 2019 and 2021. Pleasingly, the appropriate Cherished Registration, GP04 EVO, will remain with the car. Available for just two years (2003-05), the Evo VIII is a rare variant and hard to find, particularly in this condition and at this mileage and when combined with its distinctive hue, the word ‘unique’ comes to mind. Much sought after, low-ownership Evo VIII with just 10,348 miles from new presented in almost showroom condition. More Details Lot 425 Bid On Lot 425
