THE ICONIC & CLASSIC SALES AT NEC 14th & 15th November 2026

84 The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2026 Cars Originally supplied new to the Metropolitan Police, this 2005 Range Rover L322 ‘entered fleet’ service on 30/11/2005 with just 119 miles covered at the time. As with all vehicles of this nature it can be difficult to clarify and track down it’s exact role and who it carried or more importantly who it was driven by. However it is evident that this car was tasked with a protection role for members of the Royal Family most notably shadowing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in one of the Bentley State Limousine’s while reportedly being driven by Prince Philip himself at the Sandringham Estate during the Christmas Service of 2008. While the actual Church Service was not open to the public, the crowds and media nevertheless gathered outside to watch a stream of members of the Royal Family arrive at the Church on Christmas Day which was importantly captured by cameras and a video of this is available to watch on YouTube. DV55 UFA was specified in one of the most desirable and quintessentially Royal exterior colours of Tonga Green matched with Charcoal Leather, matching trim, dog guard, detachable tow bar and clear glass. Being a vehicle of the Metropolitan Police it received additional modifications such as a calibrated speedometer, additional aerial, heavy duty roof rails and of course mounting points for now removed emergency lights. We understand that the car, part of a very small pool of Royal protection Range Rovers in the Metropolitan’s Police employ was understandably serviced diligently given it’s official duties. Supported by it’s Service History Log and presumably maintained in one of the ‘Met’s’ dedicated workshops it received no less than six engine services and three brake fluid changes. The car was then removed from service in February of 2009 having covered 71,339 miles. DV55 UFA was then released to the public with presumably nothing known of it’s Royal connections and was purchased by it’s next owner in April of 2009 and remained with them until 2023, records were then kept in the cars service book with another six stamps on display with all services shown to be undertaken by Westover Land Rover of Christchurch. Presently the car records a shade under 176,000 miles and has been comprehensively recommissioned and cosmetically returned to it’s former glory. The expected rust issues found on L322’s on the rear arch area has been dealt with, reportedly the tailgates of this era seemingly hold up better than even newer models and this one still displays very well. The 18-inch wheels have also been refurbished and powder coated and the whole vehicle professionally detailed to present in the condition you see here. Mechanically the list of recent works is even greater with a reconditioned gearbox and brand new torque converter being installed, a comprehensive overhaul of the front suspension, replacement of the air compressor as well as a new battery, alternator and struts for both the boot and bonnet. More typical servicing has also been carried out with a new set of brake pads and discs fitted as well as the renewal of all drivetrain fluids including transfer case and front and rear differentials. Lastly a full engine service with new spark plugs has also been carried out to return this Range Rover to a fine majestic fettle. Seen to be used to protect Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth during the 2008 Christmas Service at the Sandringham Estate. DV55 UFA is finished in the traditionally ‘Royal’ colours of Tonga Green over Charcoal Leather and was employed by the Met on Royal Protection duties until 2009.
