+ buyer’s premium of 12.5% plus VAT (15% incl VAT) 229 Lot 357 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth (W201) •The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth is one of the most celebrated modern classic performance saloons in automotive history and was born out of Mercedes-Benz’s desire to compete in motorsport, eventually becoming a dominant force in the DTM touring car series •The standard 134bhp 2.3-litre M102 four-cylinder was transformed by Cosworth Engineering who designed a unique light-alloy, DOHC, 16-valve cylinder head and in conjunction with aggressive cams and Mahle alloy pistons now offered 182bhp •A close-ratio, five-speed, Getrag dog-leg gearbox, a five-link rear multi-link suspension setup and a factory body kit, flared wheel arches and a rear spoiler completed the package •First registered in the UK on 29/04/1986, we understand that the car spent approximately 25 years in Spain and was previously owned by our vendor’s grandfather •Brought back to the UK by our vendor in 2026 and subsequently recommissioned, with 138,683 miles indicated at the time of cataloguing •Offered with an MOT valid until September 2027, issued with no advisories. Comes with a history file and a service by a Mercedes- Benz specialist is scheduled to be carried out prior to the auction •We encourage your inspection at our NEC Classic Motor Show Sale An original, UK-supplied, manual gearbox example of Mercedes- Benz’s highly sought-after 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth, combining distinctive period styling with genuine motorsport pedigree. Seller Rating: «««¶¶ Score 83 / 135 Registration: C249 VDL Chassis No.: WDB2010342F205756 Estimate: £14,000 - £18,000 Specialist: Richard Greenhalgh Telephone No: 07948 152921 Lot 358 1973 TVR 1600M •Just 148 examples of the 1600M were produced across its two production runs, making it one of the rarer M-Series derivatives •The car retains a Ford Kent Crossflow engine, recorded on the vehicle documentation as 1,698cc rather than the standard 1,598cc. The precise internal specification has not been verified, however a number of upgrades are clearly evident including a tubular four-branch exhaust manifold, alloy rocker cover and K&N-style air filter •Further improvements are visible within the engine bay, including an upgraded radiator and electric cooling fan, alloy coolant tank and braided hoses, suggesting that usability and cooling have been given some consideration during the car’s life •Originally finished in blue, this 1600M is now in a wonderfully period shade of bright orange, the car presenting well, complemented by black and polished alloy wheels •The cabin is equally smart, trimmed in light grey with matching seats, transmission tunnel and dashboard surround, whilst the traditional timber dashboard and Mountney steering wheel complete a particularly attractive interior •The odometer currently displays 30,975 miles, although this figure has not been warranted •Due to its time spent as a museum piece, recommissioning is recommended before regular road use A seldom seen, early TVR, one of just 148 produced, with interesting period-style upgrades and wonderful provenance. Formerly part of the late-Bob Shepherd Collection and museum displayed.
