He commenced a full body-off restoration in 2018 and the chassis was fully stripped, cleaned, repaired and repainted. Naturally, the suspension and brakes were rebuilt at this point •The 2,912cc straight-six (150bhp when new) was rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, alternator and starter. HD8 carbs were overhauled and a Toyota 5-speed gearbox was added •The body was stripped of its gel coat and repainted in Aston Martin California Sage. The interior features hand-stitched green leather bucket seats, a custom dashboard and console •Other modifications include an opening boot lid, pop-up MX5 headlights, custom vents, electric windows and a modern wiring loom with relays and fuses •Now UK-registered, it has completed a 900-mile shakedown.
