254 The Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 Cars Lot 645 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III •Launched in 1962, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III and its Bentley S3 equivalent employed the 6.2-litre V8 engine introduced on the Cloud II/S2 - though with larger carburettors, new distributor and a raised compression ratio •Most obvious among many changes from the preceding models was the adoption of four headlamps, the absence of sidelights from the wing tops and a slightly lower radiator shell •From the last year of production, this impressive Cloud III is finished in Silver Mink over Garnet with a classic RR interior in soft grey hides complemented by figured Walnut on the dashboard, door cappings, rear picnic tables and vanity mirror surrounds •Originally supplied new by Jack Barclays and some years later was exported to the US. The car returned home in 2016 and has been carefully recommissioned since.
