242 The Classic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 Cars Lot 621 1953 Chevrolet GMC Model 3100 Stepside Pick-Up •The Chevrolet Model 3100 is a half-ton pickup truck, part of the ‘Advance Design’ series produced by Chevrolet from 1947 to 1955 •It was a significant departure from the boxy, utilitarian trucks of the past, introducing a more streamlined and rounded design •Assembled in Kansas City, Missouri in 1953, this vehicle is believed to have spent much of its time in California before being exported to the UK in c.1999/2000 •Full professional, body-off, photo-documented, restoration following a minor Cat-D qualifying collision •Purchased from us (then Silverstone Auctions) in 2014 and part of our vendor’s Collection since •Subject to substantial investment over recent years including the V8 rebuilt and bored out to 5.1-litres (£10,000), rebuilt 3-speed auto gearbox/column change, new stainless steel exhaust side pipes, new petrol tank and pump and new wheels and tyres •Kept in heated dehumidified storage and serviced (recently) and maintained by our knowledgeable vendor and his mechanic •Lightly used and kept for shows and special days covering less than 2,000 miles since 2014 Very well presented with a freshly rebuilt 5.1-litre Chevvy V8 and ready for the show field, this looks like fun with a capital ‘F’.
