The Iconic & Classic Sales at Silverstone Festival 22nd-24th August 2025
12 The Iconic Sale at Silverstone Festival 2025 Competition Cars The car was originally built by the Wood Brothers who ran Mustangs with Carroll Shelby, A.J. Foyt and Dale Wood and our vendor informs us that it has always been a race car and that it was imported from US by the previous UK-based owner. It was purchased by Jon Miles, who raced it with his co-driver up until Jon sadly passed away, when it then passed to current ownership where the Mustang has been campaigned successfully in Masters, HRDC and Silverstone Festival with fastest laps and race wins. Last year, a considerable amount was invested bringing it up to a more current race-spec with tweaks to the engine, gearbox and a weight loss campaign. The engine was built by Steve Warrior to 2024 specification and we’re informed that all belts, fire extinguisher, seat etc. remain current for this season. The car also offers versatility for events such as the Spa 6 Hours as it has been rewired with switches in place, additional wiring for lights etc. There is a spares package available by separate negotiation which includes two sets of wheels, engine, gear box, diff, brakes uprights, various panels and more. In our opinion, this car offers serious value for money at this estimate when you consider it’s prepared to high standards and to replicate this package today, along with all the development required to get it reliable and competitive would cost you well into six figures.
