The Special Equipment (SE) package included enhancements like disc brakes, a more powerful engine with twin SU carburettors and a modified cylinder head with larger exhaust valves • The 150 retained much of the mechanical layout of the 140, sharing the same 180bhp 3.4-litre DOHC Jaguar straight-six, however differed with a higher scuttle and door line, whilst the radiator grille reverted to the thinner slats of the XK120 but was altogether wider. The bumpers were deeper and wrapped around, a curved windscreen replaced the divided one on the XK120 and 140 and much needed servo-assisted Dunlop disc brakes were fitted at each corner • First registered as WXM 318 via Henlys on 01/01/1959, exported to Victoria, Australia in the late 1960s with known history/provenance whilst there, including a 1999 report by Brookland Classic Cars of Victoria, saying that the car was ‘totally rust-free with a sound original engine and gearbox’ •Our vendor imported the car to the UK in 2017 and it has been in the safe hands of Historit in Bicester Heritage since. It was completely checked/overhauled mechanically by Classic Performance Engineering (June 2021/£3,034), serviced by Dwornik Engineering (September 2024/£1,370) and treated to four new tyres from Vintage Tyre Supplies Ltd (June 2024).
