Race Retro Competition Car Sale 2024 Cars 34 Registration: N993 RSR Chassis No.: WP0ZZZ99ZVS312117 Estimate: £65,000 - £75,000 Specialist: Harry Whale Telephone No: 07919 887374 Lot 726 1996 Porsche 911 (993) 3.8-Litre RSR Recreation The 993 ‘Cup’ car followed on from where the 964 ‘Cup’ left off being a purpose-built racing car designed for Porsche’s one-make racing series. The 993 ‘Cup’ car helped to further cement the legendary status of the 911 as a motorsport icon. There is no doubt that Porsche’s one-make series have been at the forefront of this side of motorsport for decades, and with Porsche’s GT3 Cup Series still being a major part of global of motorsport, it only goes to further enforce the point of the 993 ‘Cup’ cars being special in their own right. Original ‘Cup’ cars can be bought and are ideal for anyone considering taking up historic racing, representing excellent value for money when compared to the likes of the RSR and GT2 models, but still demand a price-tag of £200,000 or more. The car presented here started life as a European-delivered 1997(MY) Porsche 911 (993) S Coupé . In c.2012, it is understood that an avid car collector and racer acquired the base/standard car in Italy and, to avoid having to use his other cars on track, he decided to have this car race-prepared with no expense spared. He entrusted Porsche motorsport specialists, Autorlando-Sport of Pedrengo in Italy (who have confirmed they did carry out the work and have press-release images of the car, also confirming that the base car had never previously been involved in an accident), to professionally convert it to fast-road/track specification in the guise of a Porsche ‘Cup’ car. In 2014, the car was purchased in France by a prominent Greek car collector for almost €70,000 and, in 2015, he sent it to UK-specialists, Paragon Porsche, for a full engine rebuild (new barrels, pistons, crankshaft etc.) and for the gearbox to be upgraded to RS-spec, in total costing around £23,000. For the past three years, the 993 has been run and prepared by Marque-specialists, SVP Motorsport, and has been used as intended by our vendor, including various races in the popular CSCC Championships. The Porsche is also road-registered with the very appropriate registration number, N993 RSR, which our vendor has generously included in the sale. During his ownership, he entrusted the car to Nick Fulljames who was tasked with building the engine to a full 3.8-litre RSR-specification, which he duly accomplished and the account for this was in excess of £30,000. SVP continued to enhance the car in recent years, by now running Bilstein dampers, the brakes have been rebuilt and the car was completely rewired and the ECU mapped to 360bhp. In summary, you couldn’t build this car to this specification for anywhere near this guide price. This, factored along with the valuable plate, N993 RSR, included in the sale, ensures that this package offers extremely good value for money in our opinion. Also offering the versatility of driving to the track being road-legal as well, so you can drive to track, race and drive back home again, this really is a great opportunity to acquire a specialist 993 Porsche at a very tempting guide price. *Please note that a 993 CAE short shifter has been installed on the car since the pictures were taken. A versatile 993 boasting a full Nick Fulljames 3.8-litre engine to RSR specification. Ready for competition or fast road use. More Details Lot 726 Bid On Lot 726
