LONDON CONCOURS LIFESTYLE SALE 5th June 2024

38 London Concours Lifestyle Sale 2024 Motorcycles Registration: DVE 1V Frame No.: DM860SS 089950 Estimate: £20,000 - £25,000 Specialist: Mark Bryan Telephone No: 07958 107974 Lot 371 1980 Ducati 900SS 864cc Over the course of its production life, Ducati continued to improve the 900SS in order to make it easier to live with. Upgraded electrics, smaller carbs (US-market) and quieter exhausts were some of the most noticeable changes, but the bike also received an improved camshaft drive system, an upgraded oil pump and filter, along with a strengthened crank and a redesigned gear change. However, as the 1980s loomed, Ducati had developed a new V-Twin with timing belts instead of bevel gears so the writing was on the wall. The final bevel-drive 900SS models were produced in 1980 and were only available in the black and gold livery, but also featured a twin seat. Registered new in the UK on 14th July 1980, this superb example was restored in 2004 by a Jaguar engineer to a very high standard. Having been part of a private Collection since, the bike remains in excellent order with some rewiring work carried out in 2016 and a recent new clutch actuating arm conversion making the clutch lever easier to pull. The odometer currently reads 19,988 miles and the bike is accompanied by 18 old MOTs that go back 1997 when the mileage was 14,367. At at the time of the restoration, it was showing 18,730 so it has only covered some 1,258 miles since this work was completed. It’s supplied with both the seat options and a small history file, workshop manual and an original owner’s manual. The desirable registration mark of DVE 1V is also included in the sale. A truly excellent example of one of Ducati’s finest road bikes. With its timeless beauty and acclaimed bevel-drive, the 900SS is the ultimate classic Ducati. More Details Lot 371 Bid On Lot 371
